Fiscal Fall Frivolities

Just because the leaves are falling doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate the season without the amount of money in your bank account doing the same! Here’s a list of free and low-cost fall activities that’ll make all the members of your family as happy as a fuzzy sweater on a cold day.

At the Saint Charles Library:

Sculpted Pumpkin Night Light: Appropriate for ages 13-17. Free, but Register with the link below. For more information, see the image below.

Haunted Stacks: Ages 8 and up. Free and drop in. For more information, see the image below.

It’s Fall Ya’ll: Ages 0-5. Free. Drop in. Stop by Youth Services (downstairs) from 10 am to noon for some fall themed activities.

At the Nature Center:

Twinleaf Tales: All ages. Free, but register with the link below. October 7 and November 4 from 10-10:30 a.m. Takes place at Hickory Knolls nature center located at 3795 Campton Hills Rd., St. Charles, IL. Stay and play inside and outside/visit the critters afterwards. You can also head outside and enjoy the story walk hike with Harley the Hawk.

LeRoy Oaks Storytime: Located at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles, IL. All ages. Free. Drop in. October 12, November 9. 10:30-11 a.m. Enjoy a story in the nature center, play a bit, then head outside for a short hike accompanied by another story (self-paced, located next to the hiking path by the picnic shelters.)

At the Park District:

Autmn Hayrides: All ages. $12.00/person (though group rates are available). Primrose Farm located at 5N726 Crane Road, St. Charles, IL 60175. Fridays and Saturdays through October 22. 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 p.m. Register with the link below.

Fall Color Walk: All ages. Free. October 1-30. Dawn to Dusk. Primrose Farm. Take a fun fall walk through the crisp leaves on the farm.

Pumpkin Patch Creations: All ages. $15.00/person, 1 and under are free. Primrose farm. Saturdays in October: 1, 8, 15, 22. 3:30-5 pm. Purchase tickets with the link below.
