Hauntingly Easy Half Price Halloween Crafts

You can spend a fortune on holiday art kids for your kids at a major craft store. You can spend slightly less on those same holiday art kits at the Dollar Tree. Or, chances are, you have everything you need for some adorable Halloween craft projects haunting your cupboards already. Here are some ideas that won’t ‘spook’ your wallet.

Toilet Paper Tube Bats: I bet you have an empty toilet paper tube or two laying around your house, don’t you? If you answered yes, then you have the main ingredient to make these bats. Check out the link below for a full list of supplies and instructions.

Mummy Cups: I stole this idea from my Kid’s daycare. Scrounge up some plastic disposable drink cups, gauze, eyeball stickers or jiggle eyes, and some glue. Glue one end of the gauze to the cup, then wrap the gauze around (like mummy wrappings) and secure the other end with glue when you are done. Let the glue dry and add your eyeballs to complete your mummy!

.

Construction Paper Candy Corn: Another fabulous project brought to us by daycare. Use a white crayon to draw a triangle on a sheet of black construction paper (the outline of your candy corn). Tear up bits of yellow, white, and orange construction paper and have your child glue them on to make the delicious layers of your candy corn.

Alpha-Bats: Get in some alphabet letter learning with your preschoolers/kindergarteners. Use the link below to print out some bat outlines. Cut out your bats and use any color marker to write capital and lower-case letters on them. Then, let the learning begin.

Halloween Alphabet Coloring Pages: There are literally tons of free alphabet coloring pages out there for the printing. To find the page above I Google searched ‘B for Bat free coloring pages’. Other Halloween word ideas: C is for cauldron, F is for Frankenstein, G is for Ghost…you get the idea. Use the link below to print out the bat image above.

Ghost Rocks: The materials for this craft are literally laying around your lawn. Collect some rocks, wash and dry them thoroughly. Paint them white if they are not naturally white rocks. When the paint is dry use a black sharpie to draw on the eyes and mouths. You don’t have to restrict yourself to just ghosts either. You could make witches, bats, pumpkins, vampires, or skeletons too depending on how artistic you are feeling.
